How to storage apples and pears to keep them longer fresh?
Traditional chiller room can keep apples and pears fresh within 4-6 months under temperature -2~0 ℃,humidity 85%-90%, but pls note the Evaporator fin space at least 8MM. With a controlled atmosphere room, can keep them fresh longer to 8-12 months.
A controlled atmosphere is an agricultural storage method in which the concentrations of oxygen, carbon dioxide and nitrogen, as well as the temperature and humidity of a storage room are regulated. Both dry commodities and fresh fruit and vegetables can be stored in controlled atmospheres. In controlled atmosphere room conditions is: room temperature -0.5-1℃,humidity 90%-95%,O2:2%-5%, CO2:3%-5%. Controlled room can inhibite fruits's biological respiration,reduce nutrient loss and pathogen.
